MAG Beta v1.46 Arrives!

As we announced last week, we have extended our MAG beta program beyond its original November 20 stop date. What we didn’t tell you, though, is what that means for you and the other testers who are involved in the program – so here’s everything you need to know about the next phase.

First things first: As of this morning, we’ve updated the MAG beta to version 1.46. This upgrade brings a number of new things to the table, including:

• Our highly-anticipated 256-player Domination mode in addition to 64-player Sabotage.
• Reductions in the beta download sizes by more than 30%!
• Extensive tuning to the weapons for all three PMCs to better balance the factions.
• An updated experience curve for leveling that helps new and inexperienced players.
• A huge number of updates, revisions and fixes that reflect the feedback given to us by testers in previous betas

Another important bit of information to note is when the MAG Beta program will end – which will be at the strike of Midnight (Pacific Time) on December 5.

With a smaller download you can rush into battle much quicker.

Of course, the biggest question most people have is, “How do I get into MAG Beta v1.46?” The answer is simple: Besides any GameStop or EB Games pre-order that was redeemed prior to November 20 who are already in MAG Beta v1.4, anyone who pre-orders from

GameStop or EB Games websites between November 20 and December 4 will also get a MAG beta code (unfortunately, in-store pre-orders made after November 20 will not support this promotion).

In addition to pre-orders, most of the web’s biggest and most popular video game websites will also be handing out a slew of keys in various giveaways. So be sure and check out sites like Destructoid, G4, Joystiq,  and various other favorites for a chance to get your own MAG beta key. Of course, we’ll be giving away keys of our own as well, right here on the MAG Blog, the PlayStation Blog and within the already-thriving MAG community itself.
